Welfare

Community care, compassion, and support

We take the welfare of all of our congregants seriously. Highgate Shul’s welfare initiatives embody our commitment to supporting each other in times of need. From delivering food parcels to organising volunteer rotas for those requiring assistance, our community comes together to ensure no one is left behind.

We recognise the varied needs of our members and respond with compassion, confidentiality, and respect. We will do everything we can to help, whenever we can.

In the first instance, we would ask that if you are looking for assistance, you contact the Shul office on 020 8340 7655 or by email office@highgateshul.com

Initatives & Volunteering

The type of volunteering activity the community undertakes includes:

  • Delivering food parcels provided by the United Synagogue bi-weekly to members of our community.
  • Preparing and delivering Pesach parcels
  • Delivering Purim / Rosh Hashana and Chanukah gifts
  • Rota of calls from volunteers to members

The spirit of giving and volunteering is deeply ingrained in the ethos of Highgate Shul. Our members generously contribute their time, resources, and expertise to support the synagogue’s operations, welfare projects, and charitable activities. This culture of philanthropy is crucial, enabling us to help those in need within our community and beyond.
